I never did get around to making most the ideas and stuff I was going to...Instead I got all caught up with a uni brief, 'Clothes For Living And Dying.'
We worked with a local gallery to produce garments to fit in with the photography exhibition of the above name, which was based a series of women in Bosnia who had created the outfits they wanted to buried in.
Anywho, I decided to base my work around the Holocaust and did a hell of a lot of research, learning some quite awful things, but it paid of, the jacket I made funking rocked. The calico people I was making got added in and modified a lot, which was about one of the only ideas/designs I did actually produce.
Now I'm moving on to start work for my final year, which is a little terrifying. We've already had to submit four concept boards for our final collections which were narrowed down to the final choice and a alternate, back up one. So over summer I have to throw myself into researching my concept of traditional horse riding attire fused with old school biker leathers, as well as reading about the American wild west and the ideology behind it for my dissertation, fun times.
If anyone has any ideas about books, designers, music, films etc which would be worth referencing/researching for either of these topics, please let me know
Peace out,
Liney
